Things every records manager should know - the current level of process performance.
How many records programs fail to get funding because of vague promises to improve performance?
I think it's most of them.
How can we credibly position a performance improvement if we can't position the improvement in terms of "from x to y."
To be able to do that, you have to know the numbers.
The only way to know the numbers is to go and get them ourselves.
I think executives really do believe the stats from IDC etc. about how many hours are lost to finding information.
They just can't invest in them - because averages don't give them places to invest.
They're waiting for people to come to them with solutions that are specific and measurable.
Why not us?
