Evidently, there are other things to talk about than managing structured data (politics, money and religion to name 3) but elaborating examples of important records is important, e.g., to a Business Analyst or other systems design type, and is one of those moments that matter. Enunciating what the records 'are' would be helpful but is rarely done. A record of a purchase, a trip, of tax paid, and many more, rather than a generic 'we must maintain the records'. That context alone can open up the kinds of more regular conversation that can help deliver practical solutions to meet business need and keep appropriate records
