How to get people to care about your records program
Give them something to care about.
If they don't care now, they're telling you that what you're doing doesn't matter to them.
If you keep turning up every day and doing the same thing, you're just continuing to do something that doesn't matter to them.
How long do you think that can continue?
Every tomorrow provides an opportunity to give people something to care about.
It's not about 'them' caring about what we do, it's about 'us' caring about what they do. SME's care about the information/records they create because they want to access the information in the present/future to make their jobs easier. IM professionals care about what happens to the information/records SME's create so we can know where the information is in the present/future to make our jobs easier. We need to let SME's know that we care about the same things as them - a problem shared is a problem halved!
