Tension in records - consistency vs variety
So much of success in records comes down to how we hold the tension between consistency and variety.
Consistency makes us efficient, it gives us the ability to deliver programs that can scale with minimal resources, and that are simple enough to be understood by almost anyone.
Variety makes us effective and lets us produce specific value for specific groups of people.
Of course, the more variety we have, the more resources we need to create and implement a program, and the more resources it takes to maintain them.
