Isn't "awareness training"
It's training that teaches them how to have higher expectations of records.
Records is dying a death of expectation at the moment.
Managers expect records staff to harangue them about getting their team to put stuff in a system that has no impact on team performance - except for the negative effect if the system is clunky and organised around a retention schedule instead of a business process.
So we need to teach them to have higher expectations.
We need to teach them that when they come to us, they're going to get help with performance.
And then we need to use the tools of records management to deliver on performance as they define it.
Hi Karl,
delivering on performance sounds like a great way to demonstrate the value of what we do. So, who gets to decide what RM performance measures look like? Who will set the standard? Or should it be left to organisations to decide for themselves (which isn't always a good idea when it comes to deciding what performance measures should look like).
I wonder if this is an industry standard in the making?
