Is funding.
Talk is cheap.
So many programs are failing because the executive are giving “great feedback” on the program and they “really like it.”
In any program, it's important to understand the difference between vanity actions and metrics, and productive actions and metrics.
Vanity actions and metrics are the things we do and the things we measure because they make us feel good.
Productive actions and metrics are the things we do and the things we measure because they move our program forward.
So if your executive are saying all the things you want to hear, and not giving you any money.
Stop trusting what they're saying.
And change what you're doing - until they give you the only feedback that is meaningful.
More capital, to do more of the work that you're doing.
If they won't pay for more of what you're doing, they don't really value it.
true, and now I'm depressed!
