Making people aware of the records work they already do
In many organisations, records is anathema.
No one wants to know about it.
They won't do what they're asked.
They will advocate actively for ignoring it as a waste of time.
Then then they go back to creating records, all day long.
Using them to organise themselves.
To organise others.
To transfer responsibility.
To discharge accountability.
To formalise agreements.
Convinced that they're not interested in records.
Which often just means that they're doing it badly.
How do we make people aware of what they already do?
So we can help them do it better.
