Is records in its own way?
In every organisation, are people trying to do better.
They want help.
They'll accept it from people who are there to give it.
Records have always helped people.
Helped them work beyond the limits of their memory.
Helped them share thoughts with people far away in time or space.
Helped them collaborate to achieve things greater than they could on their own.
Find me anything big that has been achieved by humans, and I'll find you the records that made it possible.
That it wouldn't have been possible without.
That made a level of quality possible that wouldn't have been possible without records.
With all that in our favour, you'd think people would be falling all over themselves to get us to help them.
So why aren’t they?
Could it be that the records we practice doesn't help people work beyond the limits of their memory, help them share thoughts with people far away, help them collaborate, or help them achieve big things?
Could it be that we’re in our own way?
How can we get out of it?
